Nimbus the King had already predicted Bafana Bafana's fate before they took on hosts Mexico in the opening Fifa World Cup 2026 fixture.

The cat was right!

A furry wonder named "Nimbus the King" had already predicted Bafana Bafana's fate even before a ball was kicked in anger at the Estadio Azteca, in Mexico City, the venue for Thursday's opening match of the Fifa World Cup 2026 against Mexico.

Going into the game, the hosts were the overwhelming favourites to win the contest for various reasons, and they did; 2-0.

As expected the home team had the bulk of the 80 000 plus fans present, possibly singing La Cucaracha and other inspiring Mexican jingles, firmly on their side.
