Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday (June 12, 2026) said “the 21st century belongs to Narendra Modi Ji”, crediting the Centre’s consistent support to Andhra Pradesh on Polavaram, Amaravati, the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and the Railway Zone, at the NDA’s ‘Two Years of Trust, Development and Welfare’ meeting at Daminedu near Tirupati.Greeting the Prime Minister on completing 12 years in office, Mr. Naidu called him a leader undefeated in elections for 25 years, first as Gujarat Chief Minister from 2001 and as Prime Minister from 2014. More than 25 crore people had been lifted out of poverty under his leadership, the national highway network had grown from 91,000 km in 2014 to 1.46 lakh km, the number of airports from 74 to 160, and 11 crore toilets and four crore houses for the poor had been built, he said. Operation Sindoor showed the country’s resolve to respond firmly to any threat to national interests, and India had one of the lowest inflation rates despite the war in West Asia, he added.'The 21st century belongs to Narendra Modi': Chandrababu Naidu"The 21st century belongs to Narendra Modi Ji," Chief Minister N. He announced that 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies would be provided soon.Even the British did not touch TirumalaMr. Naidu launched a sharp attack on the YSRCP and its chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over the sanctity of the Tirumala temple, recalling the controversy over the alleged use of adulterated ghee in the laddu prasadam during the previous regime. Asking the gathering whether they had forgotten the issue, he said any disrespect to Lord Venkateswara, “the deity of the Kali Yuga”, was an affront to devotees. “Even the British did not interfere with Tirumala, yet the Axe Party (referring to YSRCP) committed that heinous act,” he said.Alleging that several temples across the State had been “systematically desecrated” under the previous government, the Chief Minister said he had never harboured hatred towards any religion, but devotees had a responsibility to stand up whenever the deity was insulted. Attempts were still being made to disturb the sanctity of Tirumala, he alleged, warning that divine justice would prevail and that his government had the resolve and capability to protect the temple’s holiness and traditions.Oxygen to a State on a ventilatorThe NDA had provided “oxygen to a State that was effectively on a ventilator”, Mr. Naidu said, accusing the previous YSRCP government of leaving a ₹10 lakh crore debt and mortgaging MRO offices, hospitals and future liquor revenues. “Do those who mortgaged the State have the right to speak about the State?” he asked. “There is no secrecy in governance. As the leader of a people’s government, I share everything with the public,” he said, referring to the seven white papers his government released after taking office.Investments were returning, he said, citing approval for a fifth-generation fighter jet project at Puttaparthi in 36 days, a Royal Enfield plant in Tirupati district and a ‘Quantum Valley’ coming up in Amaravati.Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Union Ministers K. Rammohan Naidu and Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, and BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav participated in the meeting, which the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated by lighting a lamp. Two years of the people’s governmentEarlier in the day, in a post on X, Mr. Naidu said, “It has been exactly two years since the people’s government assumed responsibility with the immense trust of five crore people. While the previous government left behind challenges, crises and problems, we have been overcoming them and delivering welfare, development and good governance.”#2YrsOfTrustDevelopmentWelfareఐదు కోట్ల మంది ప్రజల అపార నమ్మకంతో ప్రజా ప్రభుత్వం బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టి నేటికి సరిగ్గా రెండేళ్లు.
