US President Donald Trump said the conflict with Iran had effectively ended and claimed Tehran had agreed not to obtain a nuclear weapon.

Speaking during a tele-rally for Senate candidate Barry Moore, Trump said, “We ended the war with Iran today,” adding that preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon had been a key US demand.

Trump later repeated that negotiations with Tehran had produced a successful outcome.

“Today, we settled up with Iran,” he said, adding, “We made a great deal. There’ll be no nuclear weapons. People will start coming home very soon. It’s pretty much completed. We got everything we wanted.”
