The Mangaluru city police have arrested four absconding accused, since Sunday.The Ullal police arrested P.M. Fazal, 31, of Uppala in Kasaragod district of Kerala, against whom Mangaluru court had issued Non Bailable Warrant (NBW) for non-appearance in the case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.The police said Fazal had taken bail in 2021 in the case against him for offences under Sections 8(C) and 21(B) of NDPS Act. Since then he failed to appear before the court, which issued NBW against Fazal. A team of policemen from Ullal traced Fazal to a house in Uppala. Fazal was arrested on Tuesday. He was produced before the Principal District and Sessions Judge. Fazal was remanded to judicial custody till June 23, the police said.The Kankanady Town police have arrested Rummy alias Rameez, who had failed to appear before a Mangaluru court in a theft case. The police said the court had issued NBW. A team of Kankanady police secured Rameez from a house in Konappana Agrahara in Bengaluru and produced before the court on Monday, the police said.The Barke police have arrested Abdul Khader Tansif and Mohammed Razik, who had failed to appear before a Mangaluru court for over five years. It pertained to case registered against them in 2021 in Barke police station that pertained to assault of public servant and other offences.
