NewsUK NewsCrimeTemitope Segun, 25, escaped from a prison van after attacking a guard in south-east London10:42, 11 Jun 2026Updated 10:44, 11 Jun 2026Members of the public are being urged not to approach a prisoner who fled from a transport van after appearing in court in south-east London on Monday.‌Temitope Segun, 25, who is serving a sentence for supplying class A drugs, was last spotted near Woolwich High Street at around 6:40pm on Monday, June 8, according to the Met.‌He was being transferred from Bromley Magistrates Court to HMP Thameside when he attacked a guard and made his escape, police said.‌Private contractor Serco, which was responsible for transporting the prisoner, said it was "investigating" the incident.Segun was last seen wearing a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers, and is thought to have connections to Plumstead, Abbey Wood and Woolwich.‌A Serco spokesperson said: "An incident occurred on the evening of Monday 8 June in Woolwich.
