A father and daughter contradict each other in the Vaimauga No.3 election petition, and witnesses accepted money despite saying they knew it was wrong to give money for elections.
The second day of the Vaimauga No.3 election petition took place on Thursday before Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma and Justice Donald Kerslake.
Taioaliiseu Fiti Aimaasu filed the petition against Lautimuia Uelese Vaai, who won the by-election last month. Lautimuia has also filed a counter petition.
After the lunch break, father and daughter, Tualagi Telima Leaupepe, 82, and Amulia Selau Leaupepe, 52, gave evidence on behalf of the petitioner, Taioaliiseu.
Tualagi told the court that he was given money by Lautimuia during a visit to his home just before the election.
