A 21-year-old St Andrew woman has been charged in connection with an alleged $1.4 million motor vehicle fraud involving the sale of a Toyota Probox motor car in February. Police say Sanoya Jackson of St Joseph’s Road, Kingston 13, was charged with engaging in a transaction involving criminal property, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy to defraud.It followed an investigation by detectives assigned to the St Andrew Central Police Division, a statement said on Wednesday. According to reports from the Half-Way Tree Police, Jackson and an accomplice allegedly defrauded a man of $1,444,000 during a transaction between February 6 and February 8 involving the purchase of the motorcar.The matter was reported to police, prompting an investigation that led to Jackson’s arrest.She was subsequently charged after a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of her attorney.Follow The Gleaner on X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram @JamaicaGleaner and on Facebook @GleanerJamaica.
