A St Catherine pastor accused of fraud involving the purchase of a motor vehicle has told the court that he intends to make restitution to the complainant.Sean Green, 57, is facing charges of fraudulent conversion and non-delivery of service arising from allegations that he collected more than US$12,000 to purchase a truck but failed to deliver either the vehicle or the money. When the matter came before Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, Green, through his attorney Kemoy Donaldson, agreed to repay the complainant in full. The court was also told by the defence that Green had used the funds to procure a 2010 Isuzu motor truck from Japan and had not spent the money for personal purposes. However, the judge indicated that Green would be required to provide documentary evidence to support that claim or proceed to trial.Following discussions in court, it was agreed that restitution should be made before Green's next court appearance on September 15.His bail was extended.Allegations are that Green received US$12,132 from the complainant between January and November 2025 to purchase a 2010 Isuzu motor truck.Investigators allege that he failed to deliver the vehicle and did not return the money. It is further alleged that he later became evasive when contacted by the complainant. The matter was subsequently reported to the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch, which launched a probe. The investigation led to Green's arrest and subsequent charging following a question-and-answer session with detectives.- Rasbert TurnerFollow The Gleaner on X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram @JamaicaGleaner and on Facebook @GleanerJamaica.
