RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has directed the resumption of Lebanese exports to the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

The move comes “in accordance with the positive steps taken by the Lebanese government in the way of rebuilding state institutions, what specialized teams have accomplished throughout the past year, and the cooperation shown by the Lebanese side with them and its provision of the required commitements.”

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also requested that the directive be issued, SPA added.

The decision was communicated to Salam during a phone call with the Kingdom’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

Prince Faisal affirmed the Kingdom’s support for Lebanon’s stability, sovereignty over all its territory, and the well-being of its people, and expressed his confidence that Lebanon’s government will take all necessary measures to ensure the country is not used as a platform to harm regional countries.
