Al Ahly, the most decorated club in African football history, is on the verge of appointing Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta as their next head coach. Negotiations between the two parties have reportedly reached an advanced stage, with over 95% of contract terms already agreed upon.
Ammouta is expected to sign a two-year deal carrying a salary of approximately $210,000 per month.
What we know about the deal
The incoming coach will succeed Dane Jess Thorup, whose tenure at the club has come to an end. Ammouta is expected to travel to Cairo for final discussions before the appointment becomes official.
Ammouta has reportedly prioritized sporting control over pure financial terms. He wants significant influence over the technical staff and player transfers.
