Ghana’s newly unveiled home jersey is unlikely to make its on-field debut during the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after FIFA released the official kit colour allocations for the tournament’s opening round.
The new Puma-designed strip, launched in New York last month, features a white base with a distinctive cobweb pattern inspired by Kwaku Ananse, the legendary spider character from West African folklore.
The jersey was widely praised for celebrating Ghanaian culture and heritage.
However, FIFA’s colour assignments for Group L matches suggest the Black Stars will not wear the new home kit in any of their first three fixtures unless changes are agreed during pre-match coordination meetings.
