The Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine remained closed Tuesday evening as investigators processed the scene of a fatal confrontation that left four men dead and a policeman “seriously” injured, the police say. Senior Superintendent of Police Hopton Nicholson, head of the St Catherine North Police Division, said the cop was shot during the incident. He described the officer's condition as "serious but stable".The constable is reportedly assigned to the Linstead Police Station. Nicholson said four men were shot and killed during the confrontation.The police reported that two illegal firearms were recovered at the scene.The Independent Commission of Investigations said it had launched a probe into the four fatalities.The Bog Walk Gorge, a critical artery linking Kingston and St Catherine with sections of northern Jamaica, remained closed while the scene was being processed, Nicholson said.
