Tomáš Kinči is a young winemaker gradually taking over the family business from his father, Stanislav, in the village of Rybník, just north of Levice. Stanislav entered the wine trade shortly after the Velvet Revolution, leasing 20 hectares of vineyards from the local agricultural cooperative in 1991.
At first, he sold grapes to other producers before beginning to make wine under his own label. Today, father and son cultivate 25 hectares of vineyards on the southern slopes of the Štiavnické vrchy hills, producing around 20,000 litres of organic wine each year.
Behind the family home, a guest room opens onto a quiet courtyard. A long wooden table, capable of seating around 20 guests, serves as a gathering place for wine tastings and celebrations. Beyond the village, vineyards climb the hillsides towards a scattering of historic wine cellars overlooking the valley.
