The Judiciary Media Center announced the confiscation of another portion of the property of Ali Karimi, a former player for Iran's national football team. It said that a three-story villa covering an area of 1,150 square meters in Lahijan, along with several premium ("round") mobile phone lines, has been added to the list of seized assets.

According to the report published by the center, this action was carried out in continuation of a process that had previously begun with the seizure of a portion of real estate attributed to Ali Karimi. The Judiciary had announced on May 11, 2023, that a portion of the sports figure's properties had been seized by judicial order with the objective of "utilization for public benefit."

In the new report, the Judiciary emphasized that these measures are being carried out within the framework of the law related to "countering espionage and cooperation with Israel" to identify and confiscate the assets of individuals accused of cooperating with hostile governments.

It was also announced that, in addition to the Lahijan villa, two commercial units and four residential units in Alborz Province have been seized in this case, one of which is registered under the name of Ali Karimi's child.
