As President Donald Trump revives his complaints about “rigged” election results, CNN host Kasie Hunt wanted to remind people he’s been singing the same tune for a decade now.The president and other prominent Republicans have been crying foul since a batch of mail-in votes for the Los Angeles mayoral primary was added to the totals on Sunday, causing their candidate of choice, Spencer Pratt, to slip from second to third place behind progressive city councilmember Nithya Raman.Trump called the shifting numbers the sign of a sham on Truth Social Monday, while Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) said something “stinks to high heaven,” despite result delays being a long-recognized occurrence in the mail-in ballot-heavy state.Hunt had former Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) on hand to help analyze the backlash during Monday’s episode of “The Arena.” The retired congressman described Trump as the “largest mouthpiece” for many people’s already existing skepticism.“This is also where we are with our politics. Everything is questioned,” McHenry said, then claimed that both parties had cast doubts about the voting process in recent years.Hunt noted that since Trump became a presidential candidate, he has continued to claim that elections are rigged.“And it is worth remembering that the people that support him will believe what he says. He influences their opinions,” she said. “We have gone all the way back to 2016, the last 10 years. This is what the president has sounded like over that time.”Then she aired a supercut of nine different instances where Trump crowed about “rigged” elections to describe results that didn’t go his way.On Monday night, The Associated Press declared that Raman had defeated Pratt and advanced to the November runoff against incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in November.Check out CNN’s supercut above.
