APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University will organise Students’ Orientation for Aspiration and Readiness (SOAR) education conclaves on June 15, 17 and 19.The conclave is intended to provide students and parents information on engineering colleges in Kerala, academic programmes, the vast career opportunities available in the engineering sector, and the facilities offered by institutions including Fab Labs, startup and incubation centres. The SOAR conclaves will be held in 30 engineering colleges across the State, a pressnote stated.Vice-Chancellor Ciza Thomas said the initiative is aimed at encouraging students to make the best use of the higher education opportunities and facilities available within Kerala.“Many students and parents are not fully aware of the excellent academic facilities, laboratories, programmes and career opportunities available at engineering colleges located close to them. Cutting-edge programmes in artificial intelligence, data analytics, robotics, automation and other new-generation programmes are offered by several engineering colleges in Kerala. The engineering curriculum in the State has been modernised and aligned with industry requirements through a revised academic framework. In addition, institutions ensure internship opportunities and strong placement support for students. However, these strengths are often not widely known, and addressing this awareness gap is one of the key objectives of the SOAR technical education conclave,” she pointed out.
