APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) has published the results of the B.Tech, B.Des and BHMCT degree examinations held this year. The B.Tech programme recorded a pass percentage of 60.1%, while the pass percentages for the BHMCT and B Des programmes stood at 76.1% and 84.72%, respectively.Higher Education Minister Roji M. John officially announced the results in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. Vice-Chancellor Ciza Thomas was also present. KTU also achieved its best B.Tech result to date. The B.Tech pass percentage at the university has shown a notable upward trend over the years, rising from 36.5% in 2019 to 46.5% in 2020, 51.86% in 2021, 50.47% in 2022, 55.6% in 2023, 53.03% in 2024 and 51% in 2025.The results were also announced in record time. The final-semester examinations concluded on May 16. The university completed the consolidation of the results within 13 days. The complete results of the 2026 graduating batch were published within 26 days after the consolidation of the seventh semester supplementary examination results.A total of 30,810 students from 127 engineering colleges, representing 40 engineering streams, appeared for the examinations. As many as 18,515 candidates successfully completed the programme. Female candidates outperformed their male counterparts, with 9,203 of the 11,937 female students successfully clearing the examinations, resulting in a 77.1% pass rate. Among males, 9,322 of the 18,873 students qualified and recorded a 49.4% pass rate.A total of 1,376 students attained CGPAs of more than 9.0, while 6,309 students completed the programme with a CGPA above 8.0. The B.Tech Honours degree is awarded to students who secure a CGPA of 8.5 or above up to the fourth semester and subsequently complete four additional courses carrying 20 extra credits. This year, 965 students qualified for the B.Tech Honours degree.B.Tech MinorThe 2026 graduating batch is the fourth batch to complete the university’s Minor in Engineering programme. As many as 2,207 students qualified for a B.Tech Minor degree this year. A total of 310 students earned both Honours and Minors.The College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram (CET) secured the highest pass percentage (86.2%). LBS Institute of Technology for Women, Poojappura (85.9%), Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (85.8%), Barton Hill Government Engineering College (85.1%), and Model Engineering College (82.6%) also posted high pass percentages.As many as 62 colleges achieved pass percentages above 50%, while 82 colleges recorded above 40%-pass percentages.
