Sowore also noted that the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian authorities have failed to act against identified terrorist financiers; instead, they were protected.

Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has accused the Nigerian government of complicity in the country's worsening insecurity, alleging that court proceedings once revealed that a former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) aided and abetted terrorism.

Sowore also noted that the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian authorities have failed to act against identified terrorist financiers; instead, they were protected.

Speaking on Arise News Television, Sowore also said that there were conflicting accounts surrounding the recent rescue and release of 360 abductees in Borno State, suggesting that public pressure, particularly the recent #OccupyAsoRock protest, played a significant role in the rescue of the abductees.

“There are two tracks to the story (of the rescued 360 people in Borno State). One was that Boko Haram people, some bandits, did benevolently free some abductees. That is one part of the story,” Sowore said.
