A home for persons with spinal cord injuries near Annur has petitioned the Coimbatore District Collector seeking drinking water supply through a pipeline laid to the facility six years ago.In a petition submitted during the weekly grievances redress meeting on Monday, the management of the home said around 50 persons were residing at the government-registered institution at Vadugapalayam near Annur.According to the petition, several representations had been submitted over the past six years seeking drinking water supply. The local panchayat had reportedly informed the institution that it did not have funds to lay a pipeline. The management said a 500-metre pipeline was subsequently laid to the facility using Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds provided by a private company. However, drinking water supply had not yet been provided through the connection. The petition urged the district administration to intervene and arrange drinking water supply through the existing pipeline at the earliest. Published - June 08, 2026 07:02 pm IST
