As airports around the United States prepare to host World Cup tourists, ReachTV recently struck a deal with Fox Sports to put all 104 tournament matches on TVs for travelers nationwide.
ReachTV programs screens at gates and other common areas across more than 80 airports, mixing original programming and licensed content. Fox pregame shows and live matches will air on its TVs, as well as highlights, match replays, team previews and stories about the tournament’s 11 U.S. host cities. Financial details of the deal—the most prominent under new CEO Rachel Jacobson—were not disclosed.
“Live sports is one of the highest engagement categories for travelers in airports, and this partnership adds to our growing live sports and entertainment portfolio” Jacobson said in a statement.
For those at home, 70 matches will air on Fox with the remaining 34 on FS1. Free streaming app Tubi will carry Mexico’s first match (against South Africa) and the U.S. debut vs. Paraguay, with every match available on the $20/month Fox One service. Spanish language coverage will be available from Telemundo and Peacock.
ReachTV hired Jacobson, a former NBA and Drone Racing league executive, earlier this year. It has previously done deals with the ACC, WNBA, LIV Golf and DRL, as well as with the NFL and NBA, in addition to non-sports content partners. The company boasts a monthly audience of 50 million.
