Tributes for Mzoli Ngcawuzele: 'He created jobs and inspired young entrepreneurs'

Tributes have poured in for the founder of the iconic braai spot and restaurant in Gugulethu, Mzoli’s, who has died following a long illness.

Mzoli Ngcawuzele is remembered for bringing together diverse communities through food and conversation.

Mzoli’s opened its doors in 2003, and the restaurant became a popular spot for residents and tourists, even that of world-renowned chef, Jamie Oliver.

MEC for Cultural Affairs and Sport, Ricardo Mackenzie, said Mzoli placed Gugulethu on the map.
