A standoff missile, capable of attacking from outside an enemy’s range, was unveiled to the press for the first time at the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force’s Higashi Fuji Maneuver Area in Shizuoka Prefecture on Sunday. About 2,100 personnel participated in the Fuji Firepower Exercise, a large live-fire drill, held on the day, including responding to enemy forces landing in Japan’s insular regions.
