The police are on the lookout for four youths, who robbed a college student of ₹47,000, a mobile phone, and a silver chain at Kuniyamuthur in Coimbatore.S. Kathir (20) of Oddanchatram, who is pursuing an engineering degree in a private college in the city, complained to the Kuniyamuthur police that he went to the rented room of his friend Suresh on June 5. Four known persons, namely Rizwan, Sadir, Jeganath and Abush, came to the room around 6.15 p.m. They verbally harassed him, ordered him to kneel down and assaulted him with hands. Further, they threatened him at knife point and made him transfer ₹47,000 to a bank account. The four men left the place after taking away a mobile phone and a silver chain from him, the police said.The police launched an investigation after registering a case based on the student’s complaint.
