ANGELES CITY — Seven of the 28 people who died in the collapse of a nine-story building under construction in Barangay Balibago here were not construction workers, according to updated casualty data released by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on Sunday, June 7.

The latest figures raise further questions about who was inside the structure when it collapsed on May 24, as several of the victims recovered from the rubble were not included in the original list of missing workers provided to rescue teams.

The BFP, which is overseeing the search, rescue, retrieval, and clearing operations at the site, said 26 of the 28 fatalities have already been identified, while efforts are ongoing to establish the identities of the remaining two victims.
