Olympic gymnastics great Simone Biles says she “almost died” earlier this week after a medical emergency that left her hospitalised and recovering in bed.
Biles posted a photograph on Instagram on Saturday (local time) showing her wrist covered in hospital identification bracelets alongside a message revealing she had endured what she described as “one of, if not the scariest experience of my life”.
“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age,” Biles wrote on Instagram.
“But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.
“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. especially since Jonathan [Owens, her husband and an NFL star for the Indianapolis Colts] was in Indy for practices.
