Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A. Amalraj on Saturday urged police personnel to take pride in their service to people.Distributing Chief Minister’s Police Medals to 300 police personnel who completed ten years of service on Saturday, Mr. Amalraj said they should have the determination to help people in distress and maintain dignified behaviour during a crisis.“The police personnel who received the awards should ensure that they maintain the same dignified behaviour that fetched them the laurels,” he said.He stressed the need for doing the right thing at the right time and avoiding unethical activities.Policemen and police officers who completed 10 years of service without any punishment received the awards on Saturday.A total of 157 police personnel; 94 traffic police personnel; and 49 personnel from other units received the awards for their outstanding service.
