The six-minute film is pure chaos — and a fever dream for soccer fans.

Despite our best efforts to steer clear of singling out one World Cup spot — and there have been many really good ones over the past few months, with even more to come — this week, we kept coming back to Nike’s Rip the Script as the work (be it World Cup-specific or general) that made us feel … something. With over 30 famous faces from the sports, entertainment, fashion and lifestyle worlds clocking in, this six-minute creative behemoth from Wieden+Kennedy, directed by Dan Streit, is an Easter egg-stuffed fever dream for soccer fans gearing up to celebrate the largest sporting event in the world. Fans and the internet have been abuzz since it dropped, comparing it to Adidas’ also excellent Backyard Legends, expressing confusion at the inclusion of certain celebrities (all of whom are certified fans of the sport, and a few even being former youth players), and genuinely being amped for the tournament after seeing players such as Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius “Vini Jr.” Júnior, Tyler Adams and Erling Haaland show off their fancy footwork and comedic chops.Read more about the work, which is part of the “Nike Football Universe,” here.
