A 27-year-old man’s organs were harvested and donated at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai.The 27-year-old male Sevugapandi of Virudhunagar district after suffering serious injuries in an accident at Sivakasi was admitted to Virudhunagar Medical College Hospital.From there, he was referred to GRH for further treatment. However, on June 5, he succumbed to injuries. The doctors declared him brain dead.Subsequently, following his parents’ assent, his organs were harvested. While one kidney was retained at GRH, another kidney was sent to Kavery Medical Centre and Hospital, Tiruchi, liver to Vadamalayan Hospital, Madurai, and skin and cornea were kept at GRH.
