Ramanathapuram District Collector M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran inspected the Seethakathi Sethupathi Sports Complex here on Saturday. During the inspection, he learnt about the facilities available at the stadium and also reviewed ongoing development works of the athletic synthetic track. The level of the track and its ability to withstand rain and other climatic conditions were discussed during the inspection, officials said. District Sports Officer M. Dinesh Kumar, said, the Collector asked for feasibility to set up an exclusive track for skating sport in the district. “As he had developed such a skating field at Pollachi in Coimbatore district and since the skating was practiced on the helipad located on the Collectorate campus, he inquired about developing an exclusive facility for the sport,” he added. He was told about the space available at the Amma Park, Mr. Dinesh Kumar noted. Mr. Sivaguru Prabhakaran, during the visit to Amma Park in Pattinamkathan panchayat, inspected its infrastructure, and reviewed it, noting that a large number of the public visit to do their walking exercises, and similarly, a fitness centre was functioning in a way that enables everyone from children to elders to perform physical exercises.
