Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down or suppressed 249 out of 272 drones launched by Russian forces in an overnight attack that began on June 5.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to the military, from 18:00 on June 5, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 272 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones (some jet-powered), as well as Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol loitering munitions, and Parodya decoy drones. The drones were launched from multiple locations in Russia, including Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, as well as from Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.
Air defense operations involved Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.
As of 08:00 on June 6, 249 drones had been destroyed or suppressed across northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
