The woman who was arrested on Wednesday afternoon during a planned walk for peace on Piccadilly Street, Port of Spain, has been charged with disorderly conduct.Organised by Peace Foundation TT, the peace walk was aimed at ending gang violence.Police sources told the Express the 22-year-old woman was charged by WPC Marchan, and has since been released on “own-bail”. The bail was granted by a Justice of the Peace and she’s expected to appear before a Port of Spain District Court in July. Two men were also arrested at the peace-walk. However, police sources told the Express they were not held in connection with any offences committed at the event.Instead, they were said to be “individuals known to the police” who were wanted for questioning in relation to robbery offences in the district, and officers had “seized the opportunity” to detain the men upon seeing them on Wednesday.Up to yesterday afternoon, they were both said to be in custody and aiding investigators.Senior Superintendent Raymond Thom, head of the Port of Spain Police Division, spoke with the Express on Wednesday after the gathered groups had been dispersed.
