Paul Quinn has been sentenced to 24 years for a rape in 2003 for which Andrew Malkinson was wrongly convicted.
The judge described the attack on a young mother as she walked home in Salford as “direct physical evil” – and described her as a hero for coming forward to give testimony a second time.
But Mr Malkinson said he was insulted and appalled at Quinn’s sentence – saying he had got off lightly.
