The Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services (TNFRS) Department will conduct its State-wide public awareness programme — ‘Come and Learn’ — on Saturday and Sunday (June 6 and 7, 2026) at all 385 fire stations.The initiative was launched last year with the objective to encourage the public learn essential fire safety practices. According to the department, around 50,000 people participated and benefited from it last year, an official release said.Encouraged by the response and aiming to further strengthen fire safety awareness, the department has decided to organise the programme this year as well. The sessions will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.Participants will be taught basic fire prevention measures, emergency response procedures, and safety practices to be followed during fire accidents and other disasters.
