The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department will observe ‘Fire Safety Week – 2026’ from April 14 to 20. Awareness programmes, mock drills and training sessions will be held across the State.

The week-long programmes will begin on Tuesday (April 14), paying tributes to firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Essay writing competitions will be organised for students.

“This year, we will organise the programmes under the theme ‘Safe School, Safe Hospital and Fire Safety Society – Together for Fire Prevention,’” Fire Services in-charge Director General P. Venkata Ramana told The Hindu on Monday (April 13).

Fire officers will display firefighting equipment, including hose pipes, sprinklers, fire hose reels, fire alarms and other equipment, the DG said.
