June 5 (UPI) -- Authorities in Kentucky confirmed a kangaroo was on the loose in the Richmond area for a time before being returned to its owner's property.
Kentucky State Police confirmed the marsupial was spotted hopping loose in the Gibson Bay area of Richmond on Thursday.
The kangaroo's owner said the red kangaroo, named Hunter, escaped from their property in the Battlefield Subdivision.
The Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife and Richmond Animal Control participated in the search for the Australian animal.
