A car dealership owner arrested for failing to cooperate with SIU investigation into Tembisa Hospital fraud
A car dealership owner was arrested after allegedly failing to cooperate with the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) following an order granted to seize a Bentley Continental GT linked to procurement irregularities at Tembisa Hospital.
This follows the SIU’s investigation into R2 billion corruption and fraud at the hospital, which slain whistleblower Babita Deokaran brought to light.
According to the SIU's post on X (formerly Twitter), the Special Tribunal obtained two orders against the dealership in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga.
However, the dealership owner was arrested on Tuesday after failing to cooperate with the authorities.
