A labourer died after falling from the fourth floor of an under-construction building in Goshamahal on Friday (June 05) morning, with police registering a case against the building owner and contractor over alleged lack of safety measures at the worksite.The deceased was identified as 30-year-old G. Rajashekar, a resident of Janata Nagar, Moosapet.Based on a complaint lodged by his brother, 27-year-old Gynodu Kushal, police registered a case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.According to the complaint, Rajashekar left his residence at around 6 a.m. to attend work at the Moosapet labour adda.“He, along with two other labourers, was engaged in centring work at an under-construction building located at Razzakpura near Pan Mandi in Goshamahal,” said an officer from the Goshamahal police.At around 10.30 a.m., while carrying out centring work on the fourth floor of the building, Rajashekar allegedly lost his balance and fell from the structure. He sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.“The complainant alleged that owner of the building Pavan and the builder or contractor responsible for the construction work had failed to provide adequate safety arrangements for workers at the site,” added the officer.A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.s Published - June 05, 2026 07:49 pm IST
