A 24-year-old construction worker died after falling from the 23rd floor of an under-construction building in Gachibowli on Saturday (March 14, 2026) evening.
The deceased was identified as Goutam Kumar, a native of Bihar, who had been working as a labourer at the construction site for the past six months.
According to a complaint filed by his brother, the incident occurred at around 4.30 p.m. while Goutam Kumar was working at the construction site of Shivalik Tower at the SMR Vinay Iconia Apartments being constructed by Vijaya Sree Infra Projects LLP.
Police said the worker fell through an open space near the lift lobby while carrying out work on the 23rd floor of the building. He sustained severe injuries to his head and died on the spot from heavy blood loss.
The complaint alleged that the construction management had made labourers work at dangerous heights without providing adequate safety measures. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
