ONEX Elefsis Port & Logistics Center and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges International have signed a strategic alliance agreement aimed at developing critical port infrastructure and related logistics facilities. The signing ceremony took place at the ONEX Group’s pavilion during Posidonia 2026, in the presence of Greece’s Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vassilis Kikilias, U.S. Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Marc Calcoen. The agreement marks the launch of the “Blue Corridor,” a new and powerful trade artery stretching from the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas to the Black Sea. The partnership’s primary objective is the development and expansion of a network of port infrastructure in strategically important regions. The agreement between ONEX Elefsis Port & Logistics Center and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges International reflects the longstanding ties between Greece and Belgium while further strengthening the geostrategic partnership between the United States and Europe. The Blue Corridor is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing Europe’s energy security and supply chain resilience infrastructure network.ONEX Group Chairman Panos Xenokostas highlighted the significance of the agreement for Greece, Europe and the United States:“The agreement signed represents another step towards realizing our broader vision of a secure and strong Greece within a Europe that shapes, rather than merely follows, global developments. Achieving this objective requires substantial investment in critical infrastructure, particularly ports. The current crisis in Iran serves as a stark—perhaps even final—warning of the urgent need for decisive action. Under the auspices of the United States, the Blue Corridor aims to become a maritime highway for energy security and supply chain resilience, not only for Greece but for Europe as a whole. This initiative is expected to strengthen the Vertical Corridor, in which Greece serves as a critical hub and point of origin. Our decision to join forces with the Port of Antwerp-Bruges International was far from coincidental.”
