On Tuesday, Skaramangas Shipyards signed a memorandum of cooperation with South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries on the sidelines of the international shipping exhibition Posidonia 2026.

The agreement focuses on exploring and developing cooperation in naval shipbuilding programs for the Hellenic Navy and the Hellenic Coast Guard, as well as in the construction of specialized commercial vessels, paving the way for potential joint initiatives by the two parties in both the Greek and international markets.

According to the management of Skaramangas Shipyards, the partnership with one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups represents a significant step toward strengthening the Greek shipbuilding industry and expanding the shipyard’s capabilities in both the defense and commercial sectors.

The memorandum was signed at a time when Skaramangas Shipyards is strengthening its presence in commercial vessel repairs and carrying out projects for the Hellenic Navy, including the maintenance of Type 214 submarines and preparations for the upgrade of MEKO-class frigates.
