CCTV footage has captured a man allegedly pulling down the home security cameras of an outspoken councillor.
Cr Benedict Ong was at a meeting of the Dunedin City Council on Thursday, when he left for his home just before lunch as he wasn’t feeling well.
He told Stuff that he didn’t check his personal phone during the council meeting, and was seemingly unaware that an intruder had been at his home.
But when he arrived home he found his cameras “removed from where they were, so they were no longer functioning”.
Those same cameras had earlier captured an older man entering his property about 9am, the same time as the council meeting began.
