MILAN — Luxury cashmere brand Malo is exploring new territory.
The Florence-based brand has launched its first capsule collection of jewelry inspired by knitwear techniques and with references to its native city.
“Jewelry felt like a natural next step for Malo because it extends the language of knitwear into another form,” said Malo chief executive officer Michelle Kessler-Sanders. “We wanted to create decorative pieces that were deeply connected to the house, translating the gestures we know so well, interlacing, knotting, ribbing and tension into metal.”
The collection features 11 pieces, including necklaces, chains, rings and earrings, all crafted in 24-karat gold-plated brass and hand-finished by artisans in Arezzo, Italy, a historic district of goldsmithing.
“I have always been drawn to the quiet glamour of important midcentury Italian and French jewelry, and this capsule tries to capture that feeling in a way that feels true to Malo: refined and rooted in Italian craftsmanship,” Kessler-Sanders continued.
