Baglietto’s newest superyacht has a need for speed. The shipbuilder has just launched the first vessel in its sporty new Fast50 line. The aptly named 164-footer combines all the high performance and spacious volumes (with 50 GT) of a displacement yacht with a sharp style on the seas. The full-aluminum superyacht gets its grunt from four MTU 2000 M96L engines, which also it to hit the water at 30 knots. And the flagship, designed by Francesco Paszkowski, combines sleek lines of Baglietto’s fast-superyacht lineage with elements from its T-line, including vessels like the T52. You can spot the similarities in the beach club, which stretches across two levels and has fold-down bulwarks that add even more lounge space. The Fast50 also gets full-height windows on three sides from the T-line, which can open up on the main and upper decks to maximize indoor-outdoor living.Unlike those that came before it, though, the first Fast50 unfolds across three decks, offering up even more space on the seas. Starting on the upper deck, that area has room for both lounge and sunbathing, while a Jacuzzi and additional seating in the bow acts a secluded retreat onboard. The deck is also home to a rooftop area—unusual in a yacht in this category—that acts as an owner’s haven, while a dining room is sat within a veranda with prime views of the sea. The 164-foot also pays homage to the automotive industry, with its integrated air intakes and a “Porsche Chalk” hull color all nods to its speedy counterparts on land.Inside, too, was brought to life by Paszkowski, in partnership with longtime collaborator Margherita Casprini. The first Fast50 is home to four guest cabins on the lower deck, including two VIPs, all with their own bathrooms, with an owner’s suite, too, of course. Throughout the interiors you’ll find teak is the star of the show, alongside “burnt” oak and other lightweight materials. “With the Fast50, we wanted to reinterpret Baglietto’s most authentic DNA—that of the large, high-performance aluminum yachts that shaped the shipyard’s history—translating it into a contemporary platform capable of combining performance, comfort and extraordinary liveability,” Fabio Ermetto, the brand’s COO said in a press statement. “This project perfectly represents our vision: sporty yachts with a strong identity, yet architecturally and technically advanced, and deeply tailored around the owner’s lifestyle.”Tenders onboard will reside in the stern garage, which can hold vessels up to 23 feet. Though the Fast50 itself can explore spots with reduced depth, thanks to its shallow draft semi-tunnel hull.
