The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday approved a series of irrigation, industrial infrastructure, renewable energy and land allocation proposals aimed at accelerating economic development and strengthening public infrastructure across the State.Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy, briefing reporters at the Secretariat on Thursday, after the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, said the Cabinet accorded revised administrative sanction for ₹797 crore for Package Nos. 5 and 5A of the Polavaram Left Main Canal works. The package covers canal excavation, embankment construction, lining and associated structures between kilometre 93.7 and 111.The Cabinet also approved an administrative sanction of ₹5 crore for excavation works of the Kunderu drain in Bapatla district to improve drainage infrastructure.Several land allotments were cleared to support industrial expansion and public projects. These include allocations to APIIC for industrial park expansion in Chittoor district, establishment of a new industrial park at Gudupalle, development of an MSME park at Challapalli in Krishna district, and transfer of land for an HPCL intermediate pumping station.Approvals were also granted for compensatory afforestation linked to the Veligonda project, road and rail connectivity works for the Machilipatnam greenfield port, and leasing of land to the Union Bank of India for a regional office complex in Machilipatnam.In the energy sector, the Cabinet approved a government guarantee for ₹300-crore HUDCO loan to Andhra Pradesh Power Finance Corporation and cleared multiple land allotments through NREDCAP for solar and wind power projects in YSR Kadapa district. The projects involve companies including Ecoren Energy India and Amplus group entities, covering hundreds of acres for renewable energy generation.The Cabinet cleared transfer of land to Power Grid Anantapur Kurnool Transmission Limited for transmission infrastructure and sanctioned land allocations connected with power and industrial development initiatives.In addition, approvals were granted for land classification changes at Vatticherukuru village and mandal in Guntur district and for long-term lease allotments of government land for district office buildings of the Telugu Desam Party in Anakapalli and Kakinada.These decisions, the Minister said, are expected to facilitate infrastructure growth, investment generation and improved public services across Andhra Pradesh.
