The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kwara State Council, has written an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, calling for urgent intervention in what it described as a worsening crisis, alleged corruption, and administrative breakdown at the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority (LNRBDA), Ilorin.
In the letter, the labour union accused the Authority's management, led by its Managing Director, Engr. George Olushola Olumoroti, for fostering division, intimidating workers, engaging in procurement irregularities, and suppressing accountability mechanisms within the agency.
Addressed to President Tinubu at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, the NLC warned that the situation, if left unchecked, could undermine the federal government’s agricultural and food security agenda.
“The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kwara State Council, writes this open letter with a deep sense of patriotism and responsibility to draw your urgent attention to the worsening industrial crisis and growing allegations of administrative misconduct at the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority (LNRBDA), Ilorin,” the union stated.
