A secondary school boy was shot in a drive-by shooting near his home in Princes Town on Sunday.The 16-year-old boy, who is a Form Three student, sustained a gunshot injury to his left knee.Crime scene investigators retrieved 13 spent shells on Iere Village Branch Road where the victim was shot.A police report stated that the victim was sitting on the roadway onIere Avenue when a black vehicle drove onto the street around 9.30 p.m.The victim told police investigators that the vehicle turned around then accelerated in a northerly direction, and several rounds of gunfire rang out.The teenager said he felt a burning sensation in his left knee.The vehicle sped away into Iere Village Branch Road.The victim then sought the assistance of a neighbour who conveyed him to the Princes Town District Health Facility for emergency medical treatment.Princes Town police officers W/Cpl Loutan and PC Bhagwandeen responded.
