Alan Cayetano dismisses shake-up in Senate memo

MANILA, Philippines — Despite the reorganization of the Senate, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano reaffirmed his Senate presidency in a memorandum ordering to conduct the scheduled hearings set under his leadership.

In a letter sent on Wednesday evening, Cayetano affirmed his role as Senate president to all Senate officials and personnel.

“All Senate officials and personnel are hereby formally informed that the Office of the Senate President remains fully operational, and the incumbent Senate President continues to hold and exercise the powers, functions, and prerogatives of the said office,” Cayetano declared.
