New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday termed Nepal a priority partner during a meeting with Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Himalayan country's ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party(RSP).The PM expressed his delight upon the meeting, stating that he welcomes and fully shares Lamichhane's desire to work closely together for a "shared and prosperous future", according to an official statement.Modi told Lamichhane that India looks forward to collaborating with the new government in Nepal to elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between the two countries to greater heights.Also Read:No role for any third parties in resolution of India-Nepal border issue: MEA"Delighted to meet the Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party of Nepal Mr. Rabi Lamichhane," Modi posted on X. Nepal is a priority partner under our Neighbourhood First policy and we look forward to collaborating with the new government to elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between our two countries to greater heights."On his part, Lamichhane said he shared Modi's vision for a future "where Nepal and India transcend past constraints to embrace a new era of development diplomacy"."By focusing on shared civilisational bonds, digital corridors, and seamless connectivity, we can truly build a partnership defined by progress and mutual trust," he said. "RSP looks forward to translating these possibilities into reality for people of Nepal and India - for our shared prosperity."On Tuesday, Lamichhane met BJP president Nitin Nabin and other senior leaders in what was described as a party-to-party outreach initiative. He also met home minister Amit Shah and external affairs minister S Jaishankar.
