The APC alleged that Governor Adeleke, his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, and the Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Adekunle Omoyele, were linked to the alleged arms deal plan.
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has accused the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of planning to procure arms and ammunition worth about N2 billion for political thugs ahead of the August 15 governorship election in the state.
The opposition party in the state made the accusation in a statement issued by Oluremi Omowaiye, Head of Media and Publicity Committee of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council.
The party called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi, to urgently investigate what it described as disturbing intelligence reports concerning the alleged arms procurement.
