A four-year-old girl had a miraculous escape after an autorickshaw she was sitting in rolled forward and plunged into a well at Kunnamkulam in Thrissur son Wednesday afternoon.The vehicle belonged to the child’s grandfather, an autorickshaw driver, who had briefly returned home for lunch. He had left the key inside the electric autorickshaw before stepping indoors.During this time, the child climbed into the vehicle and began playing. In the process, the autorickshaw got accidentally switched on and moved forward, breaking through a boundary wall before falling into the well with the child inside.Family members who rushed out on hearing the noise initially could not grasp what had happened, but soon realised that the vehicle had fallen into the well with the child trapped inside.A neighbour, who arrived after hearing the cries, carried out a daring rescue.
